SHADOWING JONAS BROTHERS LD
This was another amazing shadowing expierence. I got the chance to shadow the set up and the live performance of the Jonas Brothers when they came to Ohio for a concert. This gave me a lot more knowledge of touring and what a real concert set up is like, along with listening to the LD on comms to hear what he is saying and what he is asking the robo spot operators to do.

This was a great first expierence being on the production aspect of a concert. I was shadowing my good friend Jack Cannon again as he is the LD on this tour and he taught me all about the general demeanor of touring along with witnessing some problem solving solutions. I was also on comms with him and the team and could hear everything going on and hear hwo the concert was ran which was also amazing.

SPOTLIGHT SHOWCASE
The Spotlight Showcase was an expierence where I was apart of the team that made the Spotlight Showcase happen. This week and a half was a huge learning expierence for me as I got to see how professionals put on these types of shows in a very short amount of time, alongside 5 other student technicians that got selected to be apart of this rigourus program. We were all put in our respective skilled areas, and I was apart of the lighting team. We got to design our own respective numbers in the showcase along with our own schools number if the school made it to the showcase, along with being the board operator during the actual live performances.

SPOTLIGHT TECH DAY
The Spotlight Tech Day was a day where I attended 4 sessions learning about the other aspects of technical theater. Each session was one hour long and very informative. The 4 sessions in 2023 that I took were, Rail Crew and Carpentry, Lighting and Electrics, Theater and Venue Management, and State Management. The 4 sessions that I took in 2024 were Lighting and Electrics, Rail Crew and Carpentry, Theater and Venue Management, and Sound Design. All 4 sessions were taught by professional technicians at the State and Orpheum theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Some notable people there were the Technical Directors and Operational Directors there teaching the sessions along side the head of the departments for each type of session.

SHADOWING PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING DESIGNER
This experience is probably the greatest one and the one I take most pride in. I was able to go to the California Institute of Arts and shadow a professional Lighting Designer named Jack Cannon. Throughout this experience, he took me through the tips and tricks of creating, designing, and running dance competitions. This ranges from Tech Rehearsals, to working with the Stage Lighting Director, Installation of the lights and equipment, and dance shows. I learned so much from this experience with the five, 14-16 hour days and so grateful for this opportunity and training with the Cannon Lights team and the Directors at the California Institute of Arts.

SHADOWING PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING DESIGNER
I had the spectacular opportunity to shadow a professional Lighting Designer named Paul Whitaker. Throughout this experience, he took me through the tips and tricks of creating, designing, and running a professional musical at the Children's Theatre. He told me about his design process and how he takes notes on things to change, and even how a Lighting Designer works in a union house. I am so grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to experience it again in the future!

PAID LIGHT TECHNICIAN INTERNSHIP
I had the marvelous chance to get a paid internship with the production company Live Entertainment Services and helped them set up and run lighting at a concert at the Bauhaus Brew Labs in Minneapolis. Throughout this journey, I learned how to busk on a GrandMA 3, and how things ran during set up and tear down at a concert. I am super grateful for this internship and I have learned a lot from it!
